‘Musts’ to consider from the Hala Protocol best practices (BPs):

  • Has the data been reviewed in light of privacy and data minimisation standards? (BPs 2,5,11,16)

  • Has the NGO collection effort been appropriately and transparently documented? (BP 3) Including: vulnerabilities (BP 12), errors and steps taken to ameliorate (BP 8), how information was preserved (BP 14), and how data was deleted (BP 16).

  • Have the original copies of data been preserved and their integrity safeguarded? (BP 18) Have changes or enhancements only been made to a duplicate? (BP15)
